The short answers you’re looking for.
Yes. Searching, identifying, and valuing items is completely free. You only pay a flat $4.95 fee if you decide to publish a listing.
Any luxury item, fine art piece, antique, or high-end collectible. Fine art, sculpture, antique furniture, luxury watches, jewelry, sterling silver, rare books, mid-century design, vintage handbags, coins, historical documents, and more.
Bolo’s A2Z pulls real-time comparables from major auction houses and luxury marketplaces (Sotheby’s, Christie’s, 1stDibs, Chairish, LiveAuctioneers, Heritage Auctions). Accuracy improves with photo quality and how well-documented the item is at auction. Rare or one-of-a-kind items get flagged for human review.
No. Many users search purely to know what they own before deciding what to do with it.
Two reasons. First, it filters casual noise from serious sellers — which is what keeps our collector network trusting what they see. Second, it lets us maintain the platform without inflating the seller commission. Most alternatives charge 25–55% commission. We charge 20% commission plus the $4.95 flat.
$7,995. Compare that to Sotheby’s Home (55% fee, you keep $4,500), 1stDibs (15–50% commission, you keep $5,000–$8,500), or traditional auction houses (25% + buyer’s premium, you keep ~$7,500).
Publishing is under 4 minutes. Time to sale depends on the piece, market conditions, and pricing. Well-priced luxury items typically see collector interest within days.
No. Bolo’s A2Z is designed to work with phone photos. 2 to 4 shots is typically enough for identification and listing.
Yes. Anyone can list on Bolo’s. Our buyer network was seeded in Silicon Valley but includes national and international collectors. Higher-value pieces get attention from buyers worldwide.
Request access through our marketplace signup. Verified collectors get first-look notifications on new inventory matching their interests.
Every listing runs through Bolo’s A2Z authentication process. High-value pieces receive additional human review. Direct communication with sellers is encouraged before high-value purchases.
No. You pay what’s listed. No auction house 25% buyer’s premium.
Because we’re not competing with eBay, Poshmark, or Mercari. We’re not built for phone chargers and last-season sweaters. We’re built for the pieces that come out of Silicon Valley estates — items with stories, signatures, edition numbers, or $2,000+ values.
For different items, absolutely. If you’re selling a used iPhone or a t-shirt, eBay is right for you. If you’re selling something valued at $2,000+ with real provenance, our 5,500 verified collectors will get you a better result than eBay’s 180 million random shoppers.
Silicon Valley has the highest wealth density in America. Between Atherton and Napa, we’re sourcing from the collections built by tech founders, IPO winners, and legacy families. Being “focused” here means being at the source, not downstream.
